Fifteen-year-old China McClain recently took part in DoSomething.org and Aéropostale’s Teens for Jeans campaign. She even donated a few pairs of gently worn jeans to local homeless young people.
“Just finished donating jeans for @Aeropostale and @dosomething‘s #TeensForJeans Campaign! You guys should too it’s such a great cause”, China tweeted.
“The Teens for Jeans campaign continues to build momentum,” said Scott Birnbaum, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Ecommerce at Aeropostale. “In 6 years we have collected and donated over 3.5 million pairs of jeans, and Aeropostale remains committed to making a difference for teens in need.”
According to a press release by DoSomething.org, approximately one in three homeless people in the U.S. is under the age of 18 and one of the most requested items that young people in homeless shelters ask for is a pair of jeans.
Teens everywhere can join in and donate their jeans at local Aéropostale store between now and February 16th. For more information, check out TeensforJeans.com or text ‘JEANS’ to 38383.
